This Kukri was originated in Nepal but later Indian Gurkha Army applied it. Before World War II, it is used to make in Dehradoon, in India. Hence it is also called Dehradoone. It is slightly bigger, heavier and more curved than standard sized Khukuri, Service No. 1. The sight of this formidable Khukuri in the hands of the Gurkha soldiers was enough to bring the enemy at their wit's ends. The blade of this Khukuri is made from graded carbon steel mostly used in railway tracks. The sheath is made of Buffalo hide. The handle is full-tang (Panawal Angkhola) style. The measurement of this Khukuri is 16" along with 5.5" long handle and weighs 900 grams. The handle of this Khukuri is made of rose-wood. The total shipping weight including display wooden stand with packing will 1.5kg.
